TOWER Insurance Ltd had donated a 4,300 litre tank to King George VI high school in Honiara last week.
The presentation of the tank was made to the principal of the school, Mr Samuel Fangata. The school is currently home to the displaced flood victims who have taken refuge at the school in this tragic time.
In a statement the company said it recognised the plight of the people and the pressure it has placed the school under.
The current water supply is rationed between the students and the people in the school care centre.
Mr. Fangata was very pleased with the very timely gesture shown by the company and said the tank is the biggest one they currently have and will go a long way in the alleviation their current water crisis.
After the displaced people are resettled in their respective areas, the school will continue to use the large tank for their own water use.
TOWER Insurance will donate a similar tank to another school accommodating flood victims in Honiara next week, to assist with the flood relief.
