MATHEW Geve and his wife Gloria Rodona have received the Sacrament of marriage at the Makina Catholic Mission in the Marau Parish in Guadalcanal Province.
The beautiful young couple were wearing Birao cultural traditional attire normally to receive the Holy Sacrament of Marriage.
The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contra. Covenant always expresses a relationship between persons.
The marriage covenant refers to the relationship between the husband and wife, a permanent union of persons capable of knowing and loving each other and God.
The Assistant Parish Priest of Our Lady of Marau Fatima Parish Archdiocese of Honiara, Fr Charles Keku was the main celebrator and the beautiful melodies of liturgy were led by the St Padre Pio Vuravura local Church.
Fr Keku encouraged the new couple to love each other when their will be challenges in marriage.
But he added, ”Love is the greatest gift from God, and before you were married first and for most love always exist and build among both of you by loving each other then you accepting God to bless your marriage.”
He further added, ”Today many people treat marriage as a game, not realizing that marriage is a call from God for us to listen through. It not a profession but a vocation in life.”
More than 100 people witnessed the matrimonial ceremony which was followed by refreshment and entertainment.
