A one-week training on gender based violence and sexual reproductive health ended Friday in Honiara.
The program was funded by the United Nations Fund Population Agency [UNFPA].
Total of 45 participants from various organisations, agencies, and the provinces, attended the training.
Speaking to the media, Nashley Vozoto, gender based violence program coordinator, said the workshop was mainly for local nurses and health workers in the provinces to prepare them for crisis events.
Vozoto said the program was organised to equip medical workers in the country to be able to promptly respond to emergency situations such as disasters.
He said the training was the first of its kind to be conducted here.
