TRIAL dates for the matter of the former Member of Parliament for Temotu VATUD, Clay Forau, who was accused of misusing of $350,000 of constituency funding will be confirmed today.
Forau, who is now the Premier of Temotu Province, is facing 14 counts of conversion.
The court had previously heard that counsels and the court are looking at conducting a one-month trial in October this year.
The prosecution is anticipating calling about 36 witnesses at the trial.
The former MP allegedly misused $350,890 belonging to his constituents between 2012 and 2014 when he was the MP for Temotu VATUD Constituency.
The money was to be paid to recipients of the 2012 Cocoa Industry Support Scheme and Rehabilitation of Coconut Industry Programme for the constituency.
He, however, on 14 occasions between 19 October 2012 and 31 October 2014, allegedly fraudulently converted the total of 350,890 for his own benefit.
