SOLOMON Islands Football Federation (SIFF) is rushing to put together a team to make up the National Bilikiki Beach soccer Team with trials set to begin today.
SIFF in a public announcement over the weekend has called on close to 30 players to join the Beach Soccer trial this week OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup 2024.
The competition will be hosted in Honiara for the first. It will run over five days from October 22 to 26.
The three days trial will enable to the Bilikiki coaching team to select a final team to participate in the upcoming beach competition.
The names of those to be included in the trial squad has been released and players are being urged to join trial as of today.
The trial squad comprises of young and experienced members of the Bilikiki team who also played in the recent OFC Beach Soccer Nations Cup 2023 from August 21st to August 26th in Tahiti last year.
The identified players will undergo a full intensified 3-days trial starting today and will until Thursday.
Included in the trial are current influential Bilikiki players like Robert Laua, Thomas Amasia, Max Fa’ari, Thompson Peter, James Do’oro and others.
Some of the players are based in the province like; Malaita, Western and Renbell are also included in the list.

Meanwhile, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Tahiti will be competing in the OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations Cup 2024 this year.
Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) has released the fixtures for 2024 OFC Beach Soccer Men’s Nations’ Cup yesterday.
The competition will be for the first time hosted in Honiara from 22nd to 26thOctober.
The announcement came following official draws conducted at the home of football-Te Kahu O Kiwa, in Auckland, New Zealand.
The tournament will see four nations consisting of Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Fiji and Tahiti all competing in a single group format.
The format will see each side play each once with the top two teams playing in the final and those finishing in third and fourth will contest the playoffs for third place.
According to the fixtures, the hosts will play Tahiti on Tuesday 22nd, play against Papua New Guinea on Wednesday 23rd before playing Fiji on Thursday 24th for their final match.
As it was made clear, the top two teams will meet in the finals while the third and fourth team will be playing for third place.
