A Tropical Disturbance Advice has been issued by the Solomon Islands Meteorological Service early this morning for all provinces of the Solomon Islands.
The fifth Tropical disturbance watch advice stated that two tropical lows are affecting the country.
“At 5am, a Tropical Low with a central pressure of 1002 hectopascals was located near 13.8 degrees Latitude South and 163.1 degrees Longitude East. This was approximatedly 185 nautical miles South East of Rennell island. The Low is moving in a South Easterly direction and intensifying.”
“Another Tropical Low with a central pressure of 1002 hecktopascals was located to the East of Vanuatu and was moving toward the South East, away from Solomon Islands”.
“Expect winds of 15 to 25 knots increasing to 33 knots at times. Seas will be moderate to rough with moderate swells and possible coastal flooding for all provinces and islands.”
“Rain will be heavy with squally thunderstorms”.
The Solomon Islands Meteorological Service had warned people to take precautionary measures as bad weather associated with the Tropical Low posed threats to peoples’ lives and property.
