Lawson Tama stadium will come alive again this Sunday as the much awaited Telekom S-League 2023 round one kicks off.
Featuring in the opening match at 12pm will see newcomer SOSA FC play their inaugural game against Real Kakamora.
SOSA FC, under its head coach, Stanley Waita, will rely on supporters from the Selwyn Old Scholars Association to cheer up his players against experienced side Real Kakamora.
It is likely SOSA will bank on two of the national Kurukuru players, Charlie Oitaenao and Calvin Do’oro to make history in their first appearance.
They were instrumental to the recent champion of the Kurukuru and their inclusion will boost SOSA striking force.
On the other hand, Real Kakamora, with their wealth of experience, will ensure they will not give away easily to the newcomers.
In the second match, it will also feature other newcomers, Juniper FC going head-to-head with Henderson Eels.
It will be an exciting match to see how newcomers can compete with the experienced side. However, Henderson Eels must not underestimate them as they have built them up during the Pre-season friendly recently.
The main match at 4pm will see Waneagu FC taking on 2022 champions Central Coast FC.
Both teams have made their mark in the previous season and are set to maintain their position in this season.
TSL Competition Manager Ashley Vidmar explained that the TSL was rescheduled due to a proposed two-leg International Friendly series between Papua New Guinea’s Hekari United and TSL Champions Solomon Warriors.
The proposed international friendly was further postponed due to an unavailability of space for them to travel.
He said round one initial fixtures for Saturday 29th still remain, however, rearranged for midweek, Wednesday 3rd May. The minor changes were due to the international club friendlies between Solomon Warriors and Hekari United,” Vidmar explains.
