Matches to kick off this weekend
THE country’s premier football club competition, Telekom S-League 2020/2021 season will resume this weekend at the country’s national stadium Lawson Tama.
This was confirmed by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
A statement from SIFF confirmed that matches will resume despite the ongoing lease stand-off between the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) and Honiara City Council (HCC) on Lawson Tama Stadium.
HCC has agreed to give TSL Board and SIFF access to Lawson Tama to enable the completion of the top tier league.
This is great news for football fans in the capital following doubts if the TSL competition will continue at Lawson Tama following the news of the termination of the lease by HCC.
Matches this weekend will see Marist FC taking on Malaita Kingz FC at 2 pm on Saturday followed by the defending champions, Solomon Warriors and Real Kakamora FC at 4 pm.
Sunday’s matches will feature Honiara City FC and current leaders Henderson Eels FC at 2 pm while Southern United FC will take on FC Isabel United at 4 pm.
The midweek match for Match week 16 will feature Central Coast FC and Laugu United.
