WINNERS of the 2022/2023 Telekom S-league (TSL) season were awarded their respective awards in an organized prize presentation night at the Pacific Crown hotel on Sunday.
Champions Solomon Warriors were awarded gold medals and SBD$240K along with the TSL trophy, making it their seventh title since the inception of the TSL competition.
Runner-up KOSSA FC received silver medals and SBD$170K while former Champions Central Coast FC received SBD$130K and bronze medals.
Special awards were awarded to the referee of the year, assistant referee of the year, coach of the season, goalkeeper of the season, and player of the season
The referee special awards were awarded to OFC badge holder Timothy Niu for the Referee of the year award and FIFA badge Bernard Mutukera for the Assistant Referee’s award.
The Fairest team award went to Southern United for their positive disciplinary record in the league last season.
The Coach of the season Award was awarded to the youngest Coach of the season, Franco Ne’e for leading Warriors to their seventh TSL title.
Solomon Islands international goal keeper, Philip Mango who is currently away on international duty was awarded the Goalkeeper of the season.
Solomon Warriors creative midfielder, Vanuatu international John Alick received the Golden Ball and Player of the season for the second time having won the accolade two seasons ago.
Chairman of the TSL board, Anthony Makabo congratulated the winners and acknowledged the club managers, players also the major sponsor Our Telekom.
SIFF Vice President, Marlon Houkawara highlighted SIFF’s commitment to contribute towards players’ and clubs’ welfare in the new season and acknowledged the sponsors, SIFF competitions, Media, and other stakeholders for their contribution towards the success of the 2022/2023 season.
Our Telekom Chief Commercial Officer, Francis Waehero revealed Telekom’s commitment to sponsoring the league for another season as a way of giving back to the people.
