THE Western Provincial Assembly Member for Ward 3 Nusa Simbo Honourable Gideon Tuke is the new deputy provincial speaker.
Mr Tuke was formally sworn-in yesterday (12th January 2023) after an election to elect a deputy speaker was held at XL Chacha Building.
He was sworn-in by a commissioner of oath in a ceremony witnessed by the Western Provincial Assembly clerk and members of the provincial assembly at the Provincial Chamber.
Mr Tuke is a former senior government administration officer of the Premier Gina led provincial government for the last four years.
He was nominated and elected for the deputy speaker position in respect of Standing Order 7. No one in the provincial assembly objected his nomination.
The Provincial Assembly also appointed seven new provincial members for the Provincial Public Accounts Committee (PPAC) yesterday.
