Central Province Police in Tulagi are preparing well for the Easter celebration this coming weekend.
Provincial Police Commander (PPC) Fred Satu told the Solomon Star on Wednesday that his officers are preparing well and have identified areas that the operation will cover and monitored on Sunday and Easter Monday.
He said, the operation will concentrate only for Easter Sunday and Monday where they think people might do illegal activities.
The operation will cover Bonivesta Islands, Savo Sunfly and other communities in small Gela, providing security and observing communities behaviours.
He said, it is important for police to maintain its presence in communities in such big day especially this coming Easter.
“As experienced in past Easter celebration, there is no record of series crime in the provinces except for Christmas and New Year were most people usually celebrated in many ways.
“Despite that police will still continue to conduct operation in the provinces,” Mr Satu said.
Meanwhile Mr Satu encourages people in the province to take the real meaning of Easter.
“I appeal to my good people of Central province to respect and celebrate Easter in an enjoyable manner,” Mr Satu said.
