MEMBERS of the Tupapa Maraerenga Football Club (FC) from Cook Islands are heading to Honiara.
The players departed Rarotonga yesterday bound for Solomon Islands.
The players are expected to arrive mid this week ahead of the start of the OFC Men’s Championship League 2025 this coming weekend.
In a statement yesterday the Cook Islands Football Federation said, “ And they’re off! The Tupapa Maraerenga Football Club men’s team is headed to the Solomon Islands for the OFC Men’s Championship League!
“We wish the team all the best – play hard, represent strong, and make us proud!’ the statement said.
Tupapa is the champion of the premier league in Cook Islands.
The team is in Group B which is pooled along with Ifira Blackbird FC of Vanuatu, Central Coast of Solomons and Hekari United FC from Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Their first match will be against Ifira Blackbirds of Vanuatu on Monday 31st March. Their second clash will be against Central Coast on Thursday 3rd April and their final clash against Hekari is on Sunday 6th April.
Ifira Black is the first team to arrive in Honiara over the weekend.
