THE Western Turtles head coach, Alec Wickham has thanked their football fans and supporters and their sponsors for supporting them since the beginning of the Solomon Cup.
Turtles unbeaten run were stopped by Central Shields yesterday leaving defending champions Malaita Eagles as the only team that are yet to lose any games in the Solomon Cup.
“I would like to thank our fans, supporters and sponsors for supporting us throughout the competition, though we could not provide the result they expected,” he said.
After their loss in the first semifinal of the competition yesterday Wickham said his boys will regroup and finish off the competition on high note in the third and fourth playoff this Friday against the losers of the second semifinal between Malaita Eagles and Lauru Kukuvojo.
Meanwhile Wickham also acknowledged Central Shields for their victory yesterday and wished them all the best in the grand final of the Solomon Cup.
The happy man of the match yesterday, Central Shields head coach, Tome Kiki also credited Turtles for putting up a very competitive match against his boys.
