Twelve (12) correctional officers received their promotions from their Correctional Commissioner Gabriel Manelusi on Wednesday during the correctional commissioner’s weekly parade at Rove Correctional headquarters in Honiara.
A statement from the Correctional Office said Commissioner Manelusi of the Correctional Service Solomon Islands (CSSI) has formally announced the promotions of officers from rank of senior sergeants and sergeants.
“These promotions are a collective decision made by CSSI executive, commandant, directors and immediate supervisors. The recommendations were recommended on merits and to renumerate hard working officers who worked very hard but were overlook for a period of years.
“Under the power vested to me under the Correctional Service Act 2007, I formally announced the promotions of the following officers;”
- Sergeant Albert Hoahoa being promoted to the rank of senior sergeant;
- Sergeant Kawa Simbe promoted to the rank of senior sergeant;
- Sergeant Bobby Ramoau is promoted to the rank of senior sergeant;
- Sergeant Beverly Qolu is promoted to the rank of senior sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Ben Patrick Kutai promoted to the rank of sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Leotina Kikitu promoted to the rank of sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Peter Maefiti is promoted to the rank of sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Junior Alley is promoted to the rank of sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Malachi Langani is promoted to the rank of Sergeant;
- Correctional Officer Linda Sande is promoted to the rank of sergeant; and
- Correctional Officer Paul Dexter Vakai is promoted to the rank of sergeant.
Manelusi congratulated these officers on their well-deserved promotions and told them to stick with strong discipline and integrity.
“I wish you all God’s blessing in your future endeavour and look forward to your leadership contributions for the organisation’s future and your current role will be assessed for the next 6 months,” he said.
