Officers of the Royal Solomon Island Police Force (RSIPF) at Buala Police Station in Isabel Province have arrested and remanded two-murder suspects recently.
Acting Director National Criminal Investigation Department (NCID), Superintendent Michael Bole says, “Both male suspects are in their 20s and the deceased in this case a 17-years-old male person.”
Acting Director Superintendent Bole says, “The arrest was done after one of the two suspects allegedly hit the deceased with a mangrove stick at the back of his head.”
Director Bole says, “After the incident, the deceased was taken to the clinic at about 2am on the 27 February 2022 for medical attention. Later he was brought back to the village and pronounced dead after a few hours.”
Superintendent Bola says, “The motive behind the matter is that one of the two suspects was not happy with the deceased when they sent him to get cigarettes at a nearby market and he did not return as expected.”
Mr. Bole says, “Both suspects were charged with murder, Contrary to Section 200 of the Penal Code and remanded at Rove Correctional Services of Solomon Islands (CSSI) for their next appearance on 22 March 2022.”
