THE Solomon Islands Development Team’s provisional squad for the third edition of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Prime Minister’s (PM’s) Cup tournament in Honiara in December was announced this week by the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF).
SIFF said the 43-member provisional squad will undergo training and from these players, a final 23-men development squad will be selected to represent Solomon Islands at the tournament next month along with the National Team.
It said as the host nation, Solomon Islands will be fielding in two teams and hence the announcement of the provisional squad.
The provisional squad consists of four goalkeepers, 13 defenders, 13 midfielders and 13 forwards.
The Goal-keepers are Junior Pitua, Ron Sale, Luciano Sikwa’ae and James Do’oro.
The Defenders are Allen Peter, Leoa Mani, Calvin Ohasio, Prince Tahunipue, Kieran Israel, John Dioko, Jayson Kofela, Steven Koti, Christian Ohasio, Thomas Lidoli, Stanley Sameka, Danny Rofeni and Emmanuel Waiwesi.
The Midfielders are Molea Tigi, Alfie Aunga, Kennedy Sihiu, Dalton Saeni, Marlon Tahioa, Hudson Oreinima, Jared Rongosulia, Christopher Samo, Junior Albert, Alford Kanahanimae, Besa Zopio, Enock Poloso and Martin Koto.
The Forwards are Jimson Abana, Junior Ani, Junior Ricky, Winford Norman, Gagame Feni, Adrian Mara, Dickson Magi, Barrie Limoki, Spencer Vaeo, Hudson Irodao, Dennis Ifunao, Abraham Morgan and Alden Suri.
The provisional squad will go into training under the guidance of coaches Franco Ne’e, Stanley Waita and Eddie Marahare.
The provisional squad is a mixture of young and experienced players, who will be assembled for trials starting this Friday at the SIFF Academy Field at 1pm.
