AN under 16 7-a-side soccer tournament is proposed to kick start 8th August 2016 for both boys and girls.
In preparation for the competition the Honiara Football Association (HFA) is inviting schools in and around Honiara to register their under 16 school teams to compete in the upcoming HFA 2016 event.
HFA in a statement yesterday explained the purpose of this tournament is to identify possible under 16 players who can represent Honiara in the upcoming national trial competition.
This trial will be hosted by SIFF in September 2016 and will involve players from all Provincial Football Associations through-out Solomon Islands in a nation-wide campaign.
This is to select the national under-17 squad to represent Solomon Islands World Cup qualifier in 2017 for both men and women.
“It is very important for schools to note that only players who are born from 1st January 2000 and onward are eligible to participate in the competition.
“Schools must supply original birth certificate of their players on registration. “Players that do not satisfy this criteria will not be allowed to participate in this competition.”
The maximum number of players per team is 10 players with a registration fee of $250/team.
Each school is allowed to register a maximum of two male teams and two female teams.
All registrations must be submitted to HFA latest by 5pm on 5th August 2016. Should you have further queries, please do not hesitate to call 7588317 (Treasurer), or
