The Solomon Islands national U17 men’s football team is in camp ahead of their participation for the Oceania U17 Championship.
A total of 27 players have moved into camp as of Monday at the SIFF Academy.
These players were part of the 30 men training squad recently announced by SIFF.
Initially there were 100 players from Honiara, Malaita, Western, Temotu, Makira and Central provinces.
Following some trials the number was trimmed down to 60 and then to the 32 players and now down to 27.
These players will attend camp and travel to Australia for the final preparation before the Oceania U17 Championship in February next year.
After that only 20 players will be traveling for the championship.
The selection of players is being done by a panel which comprises of coaches and former veteran players the likes of Batram Suri, Eddie Rukumana, Commins Menapi and Junior Fa’arodo.
