The date for the first fundraising event hosted to help send the Solomon Islands national men’s U19 squad for the World Cup qualifiers has been set for March 8.
This was confirmed by the newly appointed fundraising committee over the weekend.
According a pamphlet issued by the committee, the event will start at 7pm to 11 pm at the Paradise restaurant.
Cooperate table, raffle tickets and entertainment are the highlights of the event.
This is the first event organized to help send the country’s U19 squad for the qualifiers.
The fundraising dinner event is highlighted as a major activity for the committee but it is also considering other smaller events to raise additional funds.
A committee was formed to organize events to help raise the funds.
The committee was formed in partnership between the Solomon Islands Football Federation (SIFF) and its affiliate member association, Honiara Football Association (HFA) and imminent persons from the community.
Meanwhile a training squad has been called upon in preparation to form a strong squad for the World Cup qualifiers.
The qualifiers will be held in Fiji in May. The winner earns a direct entry into the world cup competition because New Zealand as a host has a direct entry.
