Dear Editor – Thank you for allowing me this space to give my comments regarding the 9 trucks sent for Ulawa/ Ugi constituency by our M.P, Mr. James Tora on Thursday 25 September, 2014 on L.C Phoenix.
Well, indeed it is a good news for his main mans’ who will benefit from these trucks, but not the constituents, who will suffer the cost of hiring these trucks just like those three other ones that he first sent. Is this the kind of development that you can make out from the 8 years that we voted you for?
Come on Mr Honouarable, e no tarake na mifala needed, good health facilities, good school facilities and development nao mifala likem. People back home are tired of repairing the clinics and schools staff houses made from bush materials.
Why didn’t you upgrade the clinics on these two small islands, Ulawa and Ugi, build a wharf and a proper road for our people in Ugi. People in Su’u moli village too are still suffering from water shortage after the landslide that buried their water dam. I heard that they also asked you for assistance, but they say,” you no reply”, Why? Are these people from another constituency?
Furthermore, your housing scheme plan for Ulawa/ Ugi too but not complete. I think you should just call that your campaigners housing scheme because it seems that only your campaigners’ houses are complete. Not forgetting to mention with the roofing irons that are now rust.
There is not even any project that is being implemented on these two islands through you, Mr.Honorable. Some farmers have applied for projects through your C.D.O but all in vain. Seleni blo me fala you and C.D.O how lo hem? My goodness, To lead is to serve ya for wad ya?
Unlike other bigger constituencies, their health facilities and schools are being up graded and many other developments carried out by their MPs’, what about these two small island constituency where the population is not that big compared to the bigger constituencies where we all get the same amount of money in the development funds as your C.D.O once told me when I went to see him for my project, where he didn’t approve either.
To my good wantoks in Ulawa and Ugi, I think it’s enough of these kind of people being our leader, we should look for a better leader in this coming election. Let’s choose another leader who can develop our constituency, the type of leader who can serve his people, not himself, the kind of leader who can speak on his people’s behalf in the parliament.
Not the type of honorable who spends the constituency’s money on trucks, poor roofing irons, two months solar system and so on………Thank you.
