United Church in the Solomon Islands staged a successful second national children’s convention last week.
The one week program was based on the theme: ‘Children arise and shine with a renewed hope.’
Reports reaching the Solomon Star said the spiritual program was staged in Munda with children coming from all over the four regions of the Solomon Islands.
This involved the Central West region, New Georgia, Eastern island region, Tungavalu region and the Lauru region.
Well over 1000 children aged between 9 to 15 years of age attended the event.
There was also Bible study program being conducted every morning for the young ones.
The convention program covered many areas affecting children today.
Some of the topics included globalization, health, law and order and challenges faced when growing up into teens.
There was also sports activities and games being staged during the event.
A number of overseas guests and friends from Australia were also present led by Robina and the New Life Ministry in Australia.
