More than 600 members of the Wesley United Church in the country have successfully ended a week-long womens conference at Sasamugga in Choiseul Province on Monday.
The members came from Honiara, Guadalcanal, Western and Choiseul Provinces. The program was held last week between June 1-8.
Nelly Tokuru, Coordinator of United Church women’s group in Honiara told the Solomon Star the event ended successfully without any disruption.
Women from other provinces who also sent in their representatives and have expressed their excitement to be part of the event, she added.
A number of overseas speakers were invited and have spoken about women’s issues during the gathering.
The program has featured both spiritual, social and physical activities.
Mrs Tokuru thanked all members who have continued to pray and support the event.
She said, most of the women have learnt a lot from the event and the programs that have been offered.
Most of the women from Honiara and Guadalcanal are expected to arrive back in Honiara this morning.
