Western United women’s football club has finally registered their first three points of the Solomon Islands National Women’s Football League competition.
This follows their narrow 1-0 win over Marist women’s football team, Tuesday.
Last week they lost by a similar goal margin to KOSSA women’s football club 1-0 in the competition’s opening match.
United Janet Gagame scored the winning goal, five minutes into the second half.
Marist had a good team but with a rather weak forward whom most of the time lack the finishing off from the fast United defenders.
Both now shared three points each with Marist having won its first match against Ream Kakamora last week.
Leading the competition is the defending champion, Solomon Warriors women’s football team with three points after thrashing Hana 12-0 over the weekend.
Second on the table is last year’s second finalist Koloale women’s football club also with three points but with a goal difference of three.
Hana, Real Kakamora and West Honiara are yet to register a point.
Another match between Real Kakamora FC and Solomon Warriors will kick off tomorrow.
All matches are played at the SIFF Academy field.
