THE Grace period for those with unlicensed standby generators to pay up their licenses has already lapsed, Solomon Power has reported.
In a statement issued by the State Owned Entity (SOE), it was revealed that the grace period to have all standby generators licensed has already lapsed on 30th June 2021.
With the due date being reached, Solomon Power has warned that any person with unlicensed standby generators if identified may be liable for prosecution under the Electricity Act.
“Solomon Power wish to thank those who have come forward and had their standby generators licensed as required under section 30 (1) of the Electricity Act.
“We will be working with those who have applied but are yet to be issued with licenses,” the statement said.
Following a notice issued this week, Solomon Power will conduct a mass survey on all standby generators at all its existing networks in Honiara as well in the provinces.
This is to check for people with unlicensed standby generators, and if identified, may be liable for prosecution under the Electricity Act.
