Dear Editor – As the city is growing larger and the population is increasing, Mbokona road that leads up to the Central Bank quarter is now occupied with unplanned buildings and market booths.
A few concerned people said that those living along the road are erecting unplanned houses and they should move or build their residence in proper places and six (6) metres away from the road, if they want to live beside the road.
It’s too risky for those living along the road at this moment.
Some drivers are saying if people want to build (erect) houses along the road, they must understand the disadvantages of living beside the road and they should move 6 metres away from the road.
Every day children are playing on the road and this brings fear to drivers.
It is vital for the responsible ministry with the MP for Central Honiara constituency to look at this issue and address it.
There are similar cases in other parts of the city.
Today if you are going around the city, people are building unplanned buildings and stalls all over the place, along the feeder roads and even the main streets.
We should think of our safety and our children safety first.
