Dear Editor – Knowing the simple rules governing (G) vehicles and reporting incidents seen to appropriate authorities is away forward in assisting to reduce corruption.
It is important to realise that more than half of Solomon Islands population does not know the simple rules governing (G) Vehicles.
This is seen as disabling of Whistle Blower’s part in reminding relevant authorities of vehicle misuse.
It is therefore, important to realize that finding means of education people of rules governing (G) vehicle is of great importance if corruption needs to be addressed.
In contrast, I might be in the same situation not knowing much about (G) vehicle rules but I have to do my part as a concern citizen in informing the public of happenings that occurred in and around Auki Towin regarding the Auki Correctional Service No: G3974
Is this acceptable under (G) vehicle rules to;
· Drink and drive drunkard people and cruising all night?
· Garaging (G) vehicle at officer’s residence and used it as a private transport carrying people,
· Seldom the vehicle is used to carry out official work and used by staff as official vehicle.
I‘m a long time resident of Auki town and have seen this happening all year long and tired of seeing it happening over and over again.
It is important to realize that knowing little of (G) vehicle rules is an issue for the writer so seeking answers from those who know more is what I anticipate.
