THE University of the South Pacific (USP) is staging its annual open day program throughout today, Tuesday 1st October at its new campus located at King George area, East Honiara.
The USP Open Day is an important event in the university’s calendar as it marks the beginning of a comprehensive process that familiarises students with the university and its wide range of programmes.
The daylong event outlines the various steps and pathways available for local students who wish to join the university, thrive during their studies, complete their programmes, and graduate with distinction.
The university is optimistic that this open day is more than just an opportunity for discovery at USP; it also provides prospective students and stakeholders with a glimpse of the tertiary experience.
Today’s program which starts 9am features speeches, cutting of the anniversary cake, tour around the new campus and visit to various booths.
These booths represent the various departments, faculties and programs that University offers.
From lunch time till 4pm today, there will be cultural performances from the various cultural island groups comprising of the students.
Three other activities planned for this week by the University are;
2nd Oct – Wednesday- SI Open Student Forum;
3rd Oct – Thursday – New Campus opening ceremony and hand over; and
4th Oct – Friday – graduation.
The public is welcomed to attend all the events.
