THE University South Pacific Solomon Islands Campus Health Week & Family Day ended yesterday with a directors’ Zumba held at the Multi-purpose hall.
The week-long event, which provided students and staff the opportunity to discover that they live a healthy lifestyle, has been described as worthwhile and notable.
The one-week event brought together staff and students out of their busy schedule (work and study) to involve in a series of organised activities.
The activities conducted during the week-long event includes health vacation talks, campus clean-up, 30 minutes’ walk each day after work and study, NCD checkups, Zumba exercise and also it enable students to get more information about health issues that they need to help them live a healthy lifestyle.
The aim of the annual event is to bring together staff and students with a foremost focus to encourage, discover, improve and maintain a healthy lifestyle on resources.
This year (2015) USP SI Campus Health Week is about making a vow to its staff and students to recognize healthy lifestyle and its importance with the theme “Invest In Your Health.”
The annual event has been organised by USP SI Campus in partnership with the Ministry of Health, collectively with the Campus Students Association (USPSA-SI).
