THE Solomon Islands Outrigger & Canoe Federation has successfully completed the final selection trials for Va’a marathon on Saturday.
The final Va’a marathon trials were held starting from the Kokonut Café to DC Park.
“A total of ‘4 V6 canoes and 3 V1 canoes’ took off from Kokonut Café at 8:30am, and the last canoe arrived back at Kokonut Café around 11:15am.
“Final squad selection for ‘Va’a marathon’ is for the upcoming ‘XVII Pacific Games 2023’ to be held in the country later this year,” according to a statement from SINIS.
Va’a sport is the first sport to have reported having completed their final trials for selection.
Other National Sports Federations (NFs) are expected to do so in the coming weeks.
Team Solomon for the Pacific Games should be finalized two months before the Games kicks off.
