PARLIAMENT on Thursday passed the Valuers (Amendment) Bill 2016 yesterday after much scrutiny in the committee of supply stage.
The Bill, when becomes an Act, is to reform the membership of the Valuers Board, limit registration of valuers to only Solomon Islands citizens, impose additional qualification requirements for temporary registration of valuers, widen the scope for applicants to appeal decision (failure to make decisions), and improve the functioning of the Valuers Board.
It was passed with few amendments.
Minister of Lands, Housing and Survey, Moses Garu brought the bill to Parliament.
Parliament resumes at 9:30am today.
