Varivao Holding Limited a community based company from Isabel province scooped the Prime Minister Business of the Year award during the third Business Excellence Award (BEA) night on Saturday at Honiara Hotel.
Well-known for processing and exporting of Coffee and Kava Varivao Holding Limited was nominated for its standout and consistence in business.
On top that Varivao was also awarded the Entrepreneur of the Year.
Assistance General Manager Benjamin Hageria said, they were very humble and honour to receive such award.
“I on behalf of our General Manager Dudley Logamei we feel honoured to receive the award and we dedicate it to our community and local partners.
“This award means that we will improve and produce more commodities to drive the economy of the country, “he said.
Mr Hageria said what makes Varivao unique is it is a community based company which involves local farmers around the country.
He said 50 percent are given back to the community while 15 percent goes for the investment, 20 percent for business and 15 percent for Agriculture.
The company has employed 38 employees.
The activities of the business are kava buying, processing and exporting and coffee processing and marketing.
