Temotu Vatud constituency will soon launch its new vessel MV Vatud Star which has arrived in the country.
Vatud constituency is a constituency with scattered islands. And with the new ship coming forth, it is hoped to bridge all the Islands together.
Speaking to this paper, Member of Parliament for Vatud Constituency and Minister for Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs Freda Tuki said the new ship is here now and soon to be launched before its actual operation.
“MV Vatud Star has now arrived, and will be launched as soon as we settled down. The launching will be held here in Honiara due to the remoteness of the scattered Island of Vatud Constituency.
“It would be followed by visiting the first visit of Vatud Star to its scattered Islands.”
Ms Tuki also added that the vessel is very important to the life of the people of her constituency for transport accessibility to marketing outlets like in Honiara and other urban centers.
MV Vatud Star is the first ever boat for Temotu Vatu Constituency to serve its people. It was bought with the help of the government’s shipping grant from Japan.
