THE Member of Parliament for Shortland Islands Constituency in Western Province and Minister for Home Affairs, Isikeli Junior Vave has highlighted importance of investing in the education and healthcare sectors.
The first term Parliamentarian is concerned about the welfare of Solomon Islanders and wants greater government focus on these two social sectors.
He expressed his concern during the 46th Independence Anniversary last week.
“Launching program aimed at improved healthcare services increasing access to education and providing social support to those in need is a priority area that must not be forgotten,” Minister Vave Jr said.
Minister Vave Jr added that greater focus must be placed on education and skills development because a skilled workforce contributes to productivity and innovation.
“We must invest in education, vocational training and skill development programs.”
