The agreement between the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Solomon Islands on Mutual Visa Exemption for Citizens Holding Ordinary Passports enters into force on Saturday, 28th December, 2024
According to the agreement, citizens holding valid ordinary passports of the People’s Republic of China or Solomon Islands shall be exempted from visa requirement for entry into, exit from or transit through the territory of the other Contracting Party, for a single stay not exceeding 30 days and for a cumulative period of stay not exceeding 90 days in any 180-day-period.
Citizens who intend to stay in the territory of the other Contracting Party for a period exceeding the above mentioned length or engage in employment, study, residence, media activities, or other activities which require prior approval from the competent authorities of the other Contracting Party, shall apply for an appropriate visa before entering the territory of the other Contracting Party.
After entry into the territory of the other Contracting Party, if citizens are unable to exit from the territory within the visa exempted period due to force majeure, they shall apply for extending their period of stay to the local competent authorities with relevant proof materials.
In 2022, the Government of the People’s Republic of China and the Government of Solomon Islands signed the Agreement on Mutual Visa Exemption for Holders of Diplomatic, Official or Service Passports and Passports for Public Affairs. With the new visa exemption agreement coming into force, all citizens from our two countries can enjoy the convenience of visa exemption arrangement.
