VISALE Catholic parish celebrated a mass last Wednesday as they marked the beginning of the Lenten season.
Northwest Guadalcanal Solomon Star stringer John Toki said the Parish priest Fr Peter Houhou officiated in the event.
More than eight hundred people joined in the mass.
“All catholic and protestant churches in the world also marked the Ash Wednesday in marking the start of the Lenten season leading up to Easter day to the celebrate Death and resurrection of Jesus.”
Mr Toki said everyone who attended the program were preparing and looking forward for the Easter religious activities at the end of Lent.
