AN Australian has offered to assist Sol Surf Kagata Village Stay in Kia, West Isabel province after spending his vacation there last December.
Mark Waller, an artist spent few days at the Village Stay with his four friends and following their visit, they decided to assist the Village Stay.
A statement from the Village Stay said Mr Waller was a very generous man and promised to support the small local surfing camp.
And he has fulfilled his desire to help the Village Stay by sending a couple of electrical tools and other items last week via cargo boat to build a new dinning hall and school for children in the remote part of Isabel province.
“We never believe such big help would come to our place. Mark Waller is one of the first visitors to give such a big help to our Village Stay.”
It was revealed that he also extended his help by paying for the cost to cut timbers for the project.
As part of their commitment, Mr Waller and six of his friends, who are trades people, are confirmed to visit Isabel next month for two weeks to build the dinning hall and school themselves, the statement from the Village Stay added.
The owner of the business is excited about the visit.
The Village Stay said it is honoured to have such a help from someone due to their close relationship.
“I think the idea here is not to depend much on the Ministry for funding or MP but we should have good relationships with our visitors during their stay in our place.”
“ I believe the service we provide for our visitor is important. Visitors like to feel, experience and be part of the way we live in our villages. Our service should be something that comes over from our heart,” the statement from added.
The village of Kagata plans to build a new school for children in that remote area of the province, provide a luxury accommodation to target more visitors like couples and to be a transit link with Arnavon Island.
