NATIONAL volleyball champion Western province is all set to participate in next month’s national champion in Honiara.
Solomon Islands volleyball federation (SIVF) in a statement on Wednesday said Western province has confirmed its participation this year.
“The two times champion of the national volleyball championship Western province has confirmed to the SIVF organizing committee that they are preparing well for the upcoming national championship.”
The annual competition will be staged in Honiara between 18 to 21 April.
Preparation for the competition is currently making progress.
Speaking from Gizo John Kaitu and his coach Mr. Hendric Pana confirmed that they have been training hard to participate.
They came very close to defeat Lauru by 3:2 last year championship held in Wagina and they hope they will be at the top this year.
Isabel, Renbel and Noro (Rawaki) have also confirmed their participation to the organising committee.
The closing date for registration is on the 17th April.
That will also be followed with a technical meeting at 5.00pm at NOCSI conference room.
Registration fee is $500.00 per team and only the first 16 teams will be accepted for both men and women competitions.
