The Volleyball Solomon Islands Federation (VSIF) will be organising a 5-day Volleyball Coaching Course Level , with the support of the FIVB and Olympic Solidarity between 21-25 March 2016 in Honiara.
The course will be run by FIVB instructor David Smith from Australia.
“We will be inviting 20 teachers and additional 10 with some volleyball experience as Player, Coach, Referee or Administrator,” a statement from the federation said.
The whole purpose of the course is to assist course participants to be able to teach volleyball in school (Elementary, Junior High School, High School), University as well as at club level.
“These 5 days will cover many areas on what volleyball coaching is all about,” the Volleyball Solomon Islands Federation President said Morris Maitaki.
“This is an area the federation identified to develop in advancing volleyball in Solomon Islands.
“We have realised that most of the school are running volleyball events without proper coaching so we organise this training to provide them the opportunity to be able to teach and train students with proper volleyball skill and knowledge to play proper volleyball in school and clubs.”
The instructor will be arriving on Saturday 19th March 2016.
The workshop will start on Monday 21st but the registration is currently open for enrollment.
An opening ceremony will be organise which government officials are invited to attend and officiate.
The registration fee for the whole entire course is $50.00 per head. Each participant will expects to receive T-shirt, coaching manual, certificate and video volleyball clips.
There will be meals provided for course participants including lunch, tea, drinks as well as bus fare for the course participants.
