The men’s quarter final matches of the 10th Easter annually volley ball championship in Honiara has successfully ended on Thursday.
Gizo Kolo was the second team to advance to the top four finalists after edging Mix Boys in a stunning showdown yesterday at the Multipurpose Hall.
The provincial side has to work extra harder before they secured their semi-final spot.
Gizo Kolo started off well by winning their first set 25-21 but could not maintain their top form in their second set play off.
Mix Boys regrouped in the second encounter and manage to work away with the second set in their favour.
They, then extended their lead 2-1 from the third set battle leaving Gizo Kolo a huge task to face.
Despite thralling behind Gizo Kolo were never let their guns down by clawing their way back into game and manage to win the fourth set leaving both teams with 2-2 tie.
However, it was the provincial side who make good use of their chances in their final set clash with a 15-6 victory that also booked their semi-final spot.
Joining Arasina and Gizo Kolo for the final top four teams are West Honiara and Bemobile Volley ball teams.
West Honiara booked their spot after edging Rainbow 3-0 while Bemobile defeated Kana 3-2 that also qualifies them for the semi-final stage.
The competition will enters its semi-final play offs today at the Multipurpose Hall.
