Provisional voters’ lists for Choiseul and Western Provinces have been dispatched over the weekend.
A statement issued by the Solomon Islands Electoral Office (SIEO) said, the provisional voters’ lists were dispatched to Western and Choiseul Province on Saturday 17 Sept 2022.
“This morning (Saturday) we dispatched all printed provisional voter lists to Choiseul and Western Provinces for the continuation of the voter registration update for the respective provinces,” the statement said.
Two officers from the electoral office traveled onboard a chartered flight operated by Air Taxi to drop off the consignment boxes in Gizo and Taro.
At Nusatupe, Western Provincial Secretary Acting Patrick Toiraena formally received the list for the province.
The provisional lists were released after a 2 weeks intense data processing of all data collected from both provinces.
In the past weeks the SIEO data centre teams have completed;
1. Data exporting and extractions
2. Summation of completed forms
3. Data matching
4. Adjudication
5. Settlement of the provisional lists
6. Printing of the provisional lists
The ground teams in both provinces will in the coming days publish all provisional lists for public scrutiny. Objections and Omission period will also commence.
The public have been advised to cross their names and verify the names.
“We advise all registered voters for these provinces to must check the provisional lists for your names and details, verify and also object to non-eligible registrants and those who have passed away.
“We wish our registration teams all the best in their next stint in publishing the provisional list and objections and omissions and again call to seek the support of our communities,” the statement said.
