VOTERS in West Honiara thanked their MP Namson Tran for joining the DCC government.
Mr Tran is a member of the Independent Group in Parliament, which crossed the floor to join the government this week, after the mass defection of government MPs last week.
West Honiara voter Charles Lesimaoma said the move by their MP received overwhelming support from his voters.
“This is a wise move by our MP,” Mr Lesimaoma said.
He also thanked the five Independent Group MPs for their move.
The five, who have been given ministerial portfolios, will take their oaths today.
Their leader, Manasseh Maelanga, has been given the deputy prime minister’s job.
