The Opposition Leader Mathew Wale is urging the National Government to speed up the procurement of the Pfizer vaccines.
He made the call in Parliament, Wednesday.
“I would like to call on the government to speed up the procurement of Pfizer vaccines for the roll out of 12 year old to 17 year old where they are not eligible under the current vaccination regime.
“Including the age group will help the country realistically achieve the 90% threshold of its population.”
He added New Zealand and many other countries and including China had taken a zero Covid-19 tolerance.
“And now their position is more living with Covid-19 and therefore reaching this threshold must be absolutely number one in our efforts,” Mr Wale said.
Wale then also joined the Prime Minister calling on all eligible people to get their vaccines.
