Solomon Warriors FC has made a positive start to their preparation campaign for the upcoming Oceania Club Championship after edging Vanuatu’s top club, Amicale FC 2-1 Monday.
Reports reaching Star Sports say, it was an equally fought match played under a pretty much wet condition at the Municipal Stade in Villa.
Goals by Jerry Donga and an own goal by Amicale’s Fijian defender sealed the game for the Warriors against Amicale FC who managed to find the back of the net through a strike by Melticoin later in the second half.
The outcome of the match also showed that the new additions to the team have slotted well in with the rest of the team.
Solomon Warriors will take on Vanuatu’s second top club, Tafea FC tomorrow for their second friendly match.
