THE Western Province Member of Provincial Assembly for Ward 7, Rence Sore said political leaders, especially candidates and Party Wing Leaders, should be careful about what they utter during the campaigns.
MPA Sore was addressing a gathering at Barokoma during the People’s First Party Candidate Campaign launch last week.
He said he and the people of South Vella Constituency have been shamed by what some political party wing leaders said about certain political leaders of the Western Province in campaign last month in Auki, Malaita Province.
“We are ashamed when the Solomon Islands Democratic Party Wing Leader said the Western Province will no longer have developments for the next four years.
“Koloqeto is our MP when I was elected into the Provincial Assembly for Ward 7 last year and I have political connection between the National and Provincial Leaders,” MPA Sore said.
MPA Sore added, “It was all of us voters who voted for Koloqeto and those of us from this constituency under the leadership of former MP Koloqeto who was with the DCGA who were shamed.
“It was also a shame to us as Western Province leaders, voters, church leaders, chiefs or whoever Parliament Member that supports the DCGA when our leaders were called Judas, Satan, or whatever names you heard them say to the DCGA and its MPs.
“Those words were uttered against all who voted for MP Koloqeto who was a member of DCGA.”
MPA said said those words were disrespectful and Party Leaders should not be finger pointing at others and defame to score political points but stick to explaining their manifestos.
“By calling names or titles that we are not supposed to be called has shamed, anger and defamed us for it was all over the media outlets. it’s a shame to us.
“We should not tolerate these kind of leadership because they cause differences in our community, in our province and in our country.
“They will bring nothing but chaos and conflict. Let’s do our campaign in the rightful way as stated in the national constitution,” MPA Sore said.
