THE former Malaita Alliance for Rural Advancement (MARA) Political Advisor, Celsius Talifilu, has hit back at journalist, Alfred Sasako, for reporting yet another false and misleading information about him and the former Malaita Premier, Daniel Suidani.
In the latest publication, the journalist mentioned that Mr Talifilu and Mr Suidani were detained in Fiji when in actual fact they were not detained.
Speaking to Solomon Star Auki, Mr Talifilu said nothing as such happened to them in Fiji and the information published about them was totally misleading.
Mr Talifilu also accused Sasako of spreading false information regarding the U4C, a party headed by Mr Suidani in preparation for the next National General Election and Malaita Provincial election.
He said the story of the United States supporting the formation of U4C is a total nonsense.
In a statement, Mr Talifilu wrote, “SASAKO HAS NOT GIVEN UP YET REPORTING FALSE AND LIE STORIES.
“Looks like Sasako is in a state of paranoia.
“He simply is becoming delusional about what is going on around him.
“At no time have the authorities in Fiji detained us. It is a totally false and untrue story.
“And all those stories about the US support setting up the U4C party are totally nonsense.”
“I wonder why Solomon Star even publishes such false stories,” Mr Talifilu said.
“Surely a defamation case is in the making.
“Anyone in the Solomon Islands has the right to form a political party.
“In fact, many have been formed, some still survived and many have not been able to survive since independence.
“Why so concerned about a political party that the former MARA members including Suidani and supporters have started?
“Do they not have the safety protections, privileges, and rights provided under the constitution to form a political party?
“It has become ridiculous but not surprising that Sasako has to do this.
“His actions speak volumes about who would be the likely master,” Mr Talifilu added.
