TRAFFIC was briefly held up on Saturday evening after two vehicles collided at the road junction coming out from the Lawson Tama Stadium opposite the National Referral Hospital (NRH).
The collision involved a three tonne pick up truck and a car.
The accident occurred around 6pm in the evening which resulted in the held up of traffic flow.
Duty Traffic Police officers were at the scene to conduct investigation related to the traffic accident and to control the flow of traffic from both sides of the city.
East-bound Traffic was also busy on Saturday evening as many people were heading up to the Friendship Hall in Panatina, East Honiara for the Crowning of the Miss Pacific Island.
According to observation the car received extensive damaged to its front engine compartment and tyre compared to the three tonne vehicle which has received minimal damage.
Its not clear whether alcohol or overspending were involved resulting in the accident.
Its understood both drivers have been questioned by police to form part of their investigation and determine how the accident occurred.
