WHAT a joyous celebrations it was in Honiara, country and the region yesterday.
Its history in the making for Solomon Islands to hold Oceania champion New Zealand All Whites to a one all draw.
Never had there been any such score margin our national team have given to the New Zealand team.
To have a draw is just so exciting.
All Whites had been to the last world cup in South Africa and have had good experience.
They are a top class team which had undergone their preparations in South America.
But for our team, they spent it at Auki and that has paid off.
Prior to the match yesterday many fans have been longing for – either a win or a draw.
And that wish had come true. Its a draw.
This means Bonitos is now qualify for the next stage and will face Tahiti in one of the semi-finals tomorrow.
The man of the moment was Benjamin Totoro who scored the only goal for Solomon Islands.
After missing out of the match on Monday against Fiji, Totori had proved to the nation that the reason to bench him is no mistake.
Thumbs up to the coaching team to do that because it did pay off.
It was a satisfying match to see our boys playing a good and entertaining match which got so much praise from the local crowd.
As the tournament enters into the next stage, lets continue to support our boys.
Lets stand united and give the best support we can for our boys.
Credit should also go to the government for their timely support to the boys on Tuesday.
The result yesterday has no doubt keeps everyone talking and it would certainly put our soccer to the next level.
As a nation its something to be proud of and come tomorrow lets give the boys the same support again.
Go Solo Go!
