Fiji’s overseas-based professional footballer Trina Davis is amongst Fiji’s athletes here in Honiara for PG23, says Team Fiji is here to win more gold
TEAM Fiji has arrived yesterday evening for the Sol2023 Pacific Games and amongst its athletes is the overseas-based professional footballer Trina Davis.
Team Fiji comprises 496 athletes and officials and will represent Fiji in all 24 sports to be played during the two-week premier regional sporting event in Honiara.
The youngster told Star Sports on arrival at the Honiara International Airport that she is so excited to be here in Solomon Islands to represent her country in this year’s games.
“I’m super excited to be here in Solomon Islands to represent my country.”
Davis said Team Fiji went on a two-month camp in preparation for the Sol2023 Pacific Games and emphasised that they are well prepared for the games.
“Team Fiji is very well prepared for the games and our coming to Solomon Islands is not for nothing but to win more gold medals for our country. That is our ultimate goal,” she emphasised.
Davis also took the opportunity to thank all their fans in Solomon Islands and abroad for their support towards them for the games.
