A LOCAL reverend from the Wesley United Church in Vela La Vela in the Western Province has attended a two-week seminar in the United States of America last week.
The seminar which is held after every four years was attended by about 2000 leaders from Wesleyan churches around the world.
Rev George Velopide said the theme of the program was about spreading scriptural holiness across the land.
“The training was to equip church leaders to exercise their Christian life and help them know their purposes in God.”
He said the training specifically targets Christian faiths to work in the church ministry.
“We are expected to return and help our church congregations and to find restoration in the lives of those who desperately need God’s word in our societies.”
Rev Velopide said, a great leader gueinely cares about people and invest in development of other people’s Christian lives.
“They must invest in the development of other leaders and people, so praying is a key to success.
He said they also elected a new international president for this year.
“After this program, each of the leaders can go back to their respective churches and present what they learn to their church congregation.
Rev Velopide arrived back from the meeting on Wednesday this week.
