Election materials including kits, ballot papers and ballot boxes have been deployed to the nine constituencies in Western province since they arrived on Tuesday.
This came as Western Province prepares to go to the polls with other nine provinces on November 19.
Election Manager, Samson Tim told the SundayStar in an interview that Gizo Kolombangara had completed training of Presiding Officers and Polling Assistants last Friday.
Tim said presiding officers and polling assistants of North Vella La Vella, South Vella La Vella and Ranogga Simbo have joined the training in Gizo because they are closer to the venue.
He said Shortland should complete its training at Nila on Sunday, followed by Marovo at Seghe on Monday.
“The last day to deploy officers to polling stations is on Tuesday before the elections,” he said.
There are 97 polling stations within the nine constituencies of Western Province.
This means 97 Presiding officers are looking after each polling stations and two polling assistants assisting them.
This brings the number of polling assistants to 194 looking after the 97 polling stations.
